well im new to joplin im a 65 year old gay man. im looking for friends. well guys im here in joplin, and let me tell you there is nothing here for a 65yearold gay man. that still has a lot to offer.the young gays here want a hard body or a sugardaddy. the older have their noses up it the air. and of cause the bi married that say im not gay i just want to play. do they foreget who made things easier for them over the years.are we to be cast a side? i think its time we stand up a shout hey im here i have something to offer. so springfeild dont feel like your the only town where gay pride is getting smaller with each passing year.and lets get back to long standing relastionship. if any one would like to contact me its thomasf1090@yahoo.com. lets all be safe

I just found out that pride is the 22nd of June. One day only, 5 hours only. I totally understand the time and effort that goes into planning such events. What I don't understand is why only 5 hours? The past 2 years, Pride has been smaller and smaller every year, and this year proves to be the smallest yet. Have we damaged the gay and lesbian community so much in and around Springfield, that we can't put together a weekend to celebrate who we are??

Don't be too hasty to knock pride 07. I thought that for a smaller, one-day event it did pretty well—especially considering the rain all evening. Springfield is such a smaller town that there aren't a whole lot of gays here with time and money to devote to putting on Pride, which is essentially philanthropy. When my partner and I get a little more established, I'd like to get more involved but until then I can't complain since I'm not really part of the solution.

I was wondering if there is going to be a Gay Pride parade and if so when? Live just outside of Springfield and was thinking that it might be a good time to make new friends.

I'm hoping to move to Carthage later this year, before fall if all works out right. Date isn't certain though. Thought you might like to correspond a bit and see what comes of that for after I move. Just a thought. I can be e-mailed at psych9491@aol.com
